Sonny Sharrock--Ask The Ages

I got this going on a Sunday afternoon, messing around the apartment, totally working for me, epic, interesting, not too cacophonous.

I think this is far and away the best Sonny Sharrock album, and I like cacophony. Pharoah Sanders is great here too. And isn't Elvin Jones the drummer on this? It may have been his last date.

I frankly didn't know much about it, just one of the many jazz albums I discover I've gotten through a huge music trade, big score.

Elvin Jones is the drummer, totally the secret weapon on this set. Great album!

Bill Frisell/Dave Holland/Elvin Jones was one of his last recordings, that was 2001. I think Ask The Ages was 1991.

That's about right. I keep wanting to kill of Elvin long before he died.
