Record Fair Scores Pt 2

This one I actually got AFTER all that other shit (I'm done buying records for a while now). It's this killer limited ed LP of all acoustic covers of Misfits songs by a guy "Pajo" (?). It's real stripped down and beautiful. It's great. Came with a CD as well so I'll rip it and pass on to the broheims.

OUT!

I think that would be Louisville's own Dave Pajo, currently in Dead Child (meh), previously in Slint, Tortoise, King Kong (my wedding band, well after Pajo), as well as others.

Dave Pajo borrowed my guitar! I had that Velvets first time around, how old should that make me feel?

Gabe - did Pajo borrow your guitar for the Slint Second Story show? You guys opened, right? That was an amazing show. I wish I had heard their records first, because their records never lived up to that show.

Yes he did, he struck me as a bit of a scammer, and honestly that vibe has carried over into my feelings about most of his solo work that I have heard. But that show was fucking sweet. They would have nothing to do with the sound guy, all stage volume and loud as all hell and BETTER SOUNDING THAN THOSE RECORDS. It's crazy to think how legendary they became and how there were like 13 people in that crowd.

Thanks for letting me share one of my esoteric moments of glory, it sure beat the hell out of opening for the Afghan Whigs. anamnesis might have a few memories of that night also...
