Gay

I'm here with Rootless and we have a qualifying question on the great gay debate. Is it cool to say "I love that band so much I'm gay for them"? I think that's fair game.

That's cool, Gabino, because the gay debate has DC all wound up, it was the main topic of conversation last night. I think eliminating the word "gay" when joking around about music on this blog is PC overkill. It will be essential if I get to the post I have brewing in my head on Unkle Murdah and new Bon Jovi.

Thanks Rootless, I was getting a little wound up myself, realized being obnoxious wasn't helping the situation. I stand by my post though, I think using "gay" in a derogatory way is unnecessary and pretty weak language. I have no interest in being the PC police, just expressing my opinion, right?

Some of the expressions and words we use change. When I was a kid we played, "smear the queer", called people Indian givers, and if something was lame or not good, we called it gay. I'm not using those terms now, simply by choosing to express myself in a different way.

Everyone needs to decide on their own what words they choose to write here. I'm with Gabino on the substance of his post, but I am not gonna say words should banned. The G word, The N word, The F word, The B word, face it we are Fu%@ed!
