Reccomendations

The Pink Floyd catalogue has been reissued. I'm not to proud to say I've only really been into the Dark Side era to the Wall era. Can someone reccomend another album to me? Preferably the earlier years? I've got Pipers at the Gates of Dawn and only sort of dig it.

"Wish You Were Here" and "Animals" are the big ones for me. Solo Syd Barrett LP's are great. Also check the soundtrack for the movie "More" for the more esoteric unheard of selection.

I know a blog where you can get all these bad boys, i'll email you.

"A Saucerful of Secrets" is another good one. If you're not feeling "Piper", then I'm not sure if you'll like that one or "More", though.

Definitely check out "Obscured by Clouds"..... it's another soundtrack they did with a great mix of styles from rock to atmospheric. It also has the first song Waters ever wrote about his father and WWII, providing an early foreshadow to some of the themes from the Wall.

I was a total Floyd fanatic when I was younger, and while I dont listen to them as much as I used to, "Obscured by Clouds" is one that I keep coming back to in recent years.

That, and the Syd Barrett solo stuff.

Thank you fellas. I'm in the middle of Obscured By Clouds and it is very good indeed. Is the site DC?

They've got Classic Rock type shit for miles and miles.

"Meddle" has it's moments, a nice starting point to work backwards from Darkside. I grabbed those remasters also, heading in the other direction and trying to appreciate "The Final Cut". Pretty rough going.......
