Torche: Meanderthal

This a 2008 release. Sludge/stoner rock with some pop hooks. If you like walls of guitar and heavy riffs you might dig this. Healer sounds reminds me of a more pop Helmet track. The closing track Meanderthal is out the slow/drone/sludge Melvins playbook. Amnesian and Sandstorm are the highlight tracks for me.

Yeah, got this, dug it, and then it got lost in the shuffle. Will dig up and spin(you know, virtually). Same for Baroness, anyone down with them?

I like Baroness but only have The Blue Record. I like some of the other Georgia sludge bands like Kylessa (although I hear they suck live) and Mastodon.

Recently bought Busse Woods by Acid King. They're from California but in a similar vein.

I love this record. They had some lineup changes recently, and I think they're recording again now. You should check out Floor, too- some of the same guys, weirder, slower vibe.
