Everybody, you don't have to go all Pitchfork out, but as a rule you need to do some kind of 2009 best of email (one album, 10 albums, a show, a movement, whatever) or else! Or else... yo, you don't even want to know what else.
Also, I'm with you on all that shit, especially Mountains.
i can never make my mind up 'bout the best albums of the year.
however, gig of the year hands down was steve reich / london sinfonietta / bang on a can last month at the royal festival hall in london. music for 18 in the flesh was fucking astounding and (in my humble opinion) utterly unsurpassable.
I agree with all those (can I still include them in my top picks??) and second again what DC said about Mountains in particular.
