AC/Panda Bear

I got that new Animal Collective joint. It's pretty good.

Here is a picture that i got from "Brooklyn Vegan.com" (?!?! some site that Rootless follows). This is noteworthy to me, maybe not so much to you... Panda Bear is rocking 2 Boss SP-404's and Mackie mixer... he also has a little drum set and a keyboard up there.

Yes, the new AC is quite blissful. It's weird what we were talking about them going Platinum. They seem popular. They hold the number 4 position on iTunes most sold albums. Could've been higher if corny-ass U2 didn't just release something.

how does the new one compare to the previous? just couldnt get into Strawberry Jam for some reason, seemed like they were trying too hard for some reason. Actually, i liked it the first time i heard it, but then it just fell off a cliff for me

however, some of the trax ive heard from the new one sound interesting

Well, much of it reminds me of Panda Bear's Person Pitch, which is very good thing. For me, anyway.

agreed Pete, that would be a good thing in my book as well.... esp if it means more vocal balance between the main singers and a bit mooreof that warped beach-boys-ie pop sound

Well if your interested in receiving it in a music trade, let me know.

If you were feeling Person Pitch, this new one is a slam dunk. It's really good, and instead of being awesome and then falling off, it is was just ok at first and now is growing on me.

hook it up! i'm diggin Person Pitch.
plus i love albums that seem ok at first, then as you listen more you uncover more stuff. it's like a treasure hunt.

I heard an interview with the ac guys- they were asked about software and tools they used to create their soundscapes. they laughed and replied there wasn't a piece of gear they used that couldn't be found at guitar center.
