I loved that Battles joint that came out last year. In case you missed it, Battles is a super group on Warp featuring guys from post-rock groups like Don Cabarello (never heard them), the drummer from Helmet, and Tolani (sp?) Braxton, a freak out electronic guy who is Anthony Braxton's kid. If you missed it, DEFINITELY check it out.

I saw Battles on the Summerstage in central park this summer and they rocked. That is, they rocked when they weren't having technical problems, which left everyone standing in the hot sun waiting. I think what they do is awesome and when it works its incredible. But I got the feeling when they were futzing around with all the pedals and everything was fucking up that it all gets a bit over-complicated. I'm definitely a fan though.
