Hi.  I just read this article, and I thought some of you would be interested in reading it as well.  >>> Archive Fever <<<
Also, check out this track from the Bee Gees first album.  It may be a little flowery for you, but I was freaking shocked when I heard it because I don't think baroque psych-pop when I think of the Bee Gees.

Early Bee-Gees are dope. But, you can't hate on the Bee-Gees, you have to take popular culture into account for era when the music was created, and for disco era, Bee-Gees were huge. For that type of music, you can't fault.... the Bee-Gees!

Same thing with Kool and the Gang... "Live at the Sex Machine" is way better than their late 70's output, but "Celebration" has become something bigger than music, it is like a part of the fabric of the culture of our lives, maaaaaan.

I felt the same way when somebody turned me onto early Cure and early Pink Floyd years ago. That shit rocks – similarly unexpected and totally awesome.

Great song. Thanks.

i'm not saying early bee gees are better or worse. the early stuff is just turned out to be radically different than my expectations of them. i remember my mom telling me that she liked the bee gees before they were disco when i was a youngster. my friend introduced me to their early stuff about a month ago. now i can definitively say that i prefer listening to the early stuff, but it's obvious which era impacted pop culture (and the fabric of our lives?) more. like it or not, we all know every single song on the saturday night fever soundtrack. so yeah...

Hurewitz, you should definitely read this article.

I hear what that guy is saying... because of my borderline OCD, if i get a compilations from someone, and all the artist names are broken out, i have to go in, move the artist name to song title line, and change artist name to the name of the Comp for organizational purposes.

You take a 5 disc, "Complete Watt Stax Singles" for example, and that equals like 2 hours of data entry starting at a computer screen.
